THE BEGINNINGS
Robert Kurtz Senior, affectionately known as 'Le Père' (the Father), decided to produce his own cigars in 1967 when, after visiting the tobacco fields of the Copan region of Honduras, fell in love with the local 'Leaf'. He realized the potential of combining the powerful Connecticut seed tobaccos grown in the perfect conditions of the Honduran climate, with the precision and quality of service that was associated with Switzerland. This would be the ideal way to create cigars that he took great pleasure in smoking and others would too. And so the story began.

Since leaving his position in 1985 as Project Manager for one of Geneva's largest Event companies, Robert has lived and breathed cigars. In large part, the success of Selection de Robert cigars is a combination of Robert's progressive and well-developed business expertise as well as his passion for cigars, directly inherited from his father. Robert is one of those cigar connoisseurs that seeks out the world's most interesting cigars, takes every opportunity to indulge his palate, and believes that any cigar can be good if it engages your intellect as well as your senses.
